Social Media is the new zeitgeist buzzword in Online Marketing. Brands and Companies have to stand up and take notice.

Before Web 2.0 communications between organisations were very much one-way. Brands would tell consumers this is what we are. Now with Web 2.0, consumers can tell brands what they want and can also tell the world about their experiences. For example, Cadbury's in the UK have recently brought back the Wispa chocolate bar because of a Facebook group called "Bring Back Wispa". It's all about seeing conversations about your business, tracking the conversations and then ultimately owning those conversations - similar to what Cadbury's did.
